Setting up a V380 panorama camera starts after one essential decision: confirming which app the exact camera requires.

V380 and V380 Pro are separate applications from the same publisher. That shared publisher does not prove that a camera designed for one app works with the other, or that their setup procedures are interchangeable.

Quick Answer

After confirming the correct app:

  1. Install the exact app from its official store listing.
  2. Check the camera manual, packaging, current support documentation, and device prompt.
  3. Confirm the network requirement documented for the exact camera.
  4. Select only the documented QR, AP hotspot, Bluetooth, or already-connected-device branch.
  5. Confirm that the camera was added before changing unrelated settings or starting general troubleshooting.

If you have not verified the app yet, start with WiFi Panorama Camera App: How to Identify the Right App.

V380 Pro limitation: only the V380 Pro app identity is verified here. Detailed V380 Pro onboarding behavior is not established unless a primary source for the exact model documents it. The V380 procedures below must not be relabeled as V380 Pro instructions.

Confirm the Correct V380 App

Use the application explicitly identified by the camera manual, manufacturer documentation, packaging, or current official support information.

V380

V380 Pro

The separate package names and App Store IDs confirm that these are distinct applications. The shared publisher does not establish device compatibility or workflow interchangeability.

Do not select V380 Pro merely because “Pro” sounds newer, or because another visually similar camera uses it. If a seller supplies setup documentation, rely on it only when it reproduces verifiable manufacturer instructions or the seller is the documented support channel for that exact product.

Prepare for the Documented Setup Method

Power the camera normally and wait for the state described by its own instructions. Some supported cameras use a voice prompt; other models may expose their setup state differently.

Do not reset the camera automatically before first-time setup. Reset should be considered only when the exact documentation requires it or when an appropriate troubleshooting process has established that it is necessary.

Prepare:

  • the verified V380-family app from an official store;
  • the exact camera manual or model instructions, when available;
  • the WiFi credentials required by the documented method;
  • the phone and camera within the range required for onboarding.

Treat the camera’s Device ID, printed QR codes, WiFi password, and app-account credentials as private information. Do not expose them in screenshots or public support posts.

Check the Exact Camera’s Network Requirement

Confirm the supported WiFi band for the exact camera before choosing an onboarding branch.

The current V380 network guidance describes 2.4GHz router configuration for the wireless cameras covered by that guidance. It does not prove that every V380 product, every V380 Pro product, or every future device has identical radio support.

For WiFi bands, router security, mesh networks, Smart Connect, and broader compatibility questions, use WiFi Panorama Camera 5GHz Compatibility.

Choose the Setup Branch Documented for the Camera

The V380 documentation reviewed for this guide describes several separate onboarding branches. They are alternatives selected according to the camera’s documented state—not steps in one combined sequence.

A camera expecting AP hotspot setup should not be forced through a QR branch merely because another V380 camera uses QR. The same rule applies to Bluetooth, LAN discovery, and manual Device ID addition.

For generic pairing concepts across camera ecosystems, see How to Connect a WiFi Panorama Camera to Your Phone.

The following branch details are verified for documented V380 workflows. They are not documented here for V380 Pro.

QR Setup: Confirm Which Direction Applies

“QR setup” may describe two different V380 operations:

  • the phone scans the QR code or Device ID printed on the camera; or
  • the app displays a generated QR code for a supported camera to read.

The official V380 QR instructions document a workflow in which the phone first scans the device code and the camera later reads a QR code displayed by the app.

These operations must not be confused with:

  • a QR code that downloads an app;
  • a device-sharing QR code;
  • an unidentified code from a reseller or unrelated tutorial.

Follow the direction specified by the current V380 workflow for the exact camera. Do not publish a screenshot containing the camera’s QR code or Device ID.

AP or Camera Hotspot Setup

Some documented V380 cameras create a temporary WiFi network during configuration.

The official V380 AP instructions show model-qualified hotspot examples such as MV+ID and HSC+ID. These are examples from the reviewed guidance, not universal SSID formats. Follow the name presented by the exact camera and current workflow.

The AP method generally serves this purpose:

  1. The camera creates a temporary local network.
  2. The phone joins that network when instructed.
  3. The app communicates with the camera locally.
  4. The documented workflow supplies the router credentials when router connection is required.
  5. The camera attempts to complete network configuration.

On iPhone, the workflow may direct the user to join the temporary network in WiFi settings and return to the app.

A temporary camera network may produce wording such as No Internet or Network unavailable. That alone is neither definitive success nor definitive failure: the phone may be communicating directly with a camera hotspot that does not provide internet access.

Bluetooth Setup for Supported Devices

Use Bluetooth only when the exact camera documentation, device prompt, or current V380 workflow specifies it.

The official V380 Bluetooth instructions document Bluetooth onboarding for supported devices. Bluetooth is not a mandatory preparation step for every V380 camera.

Turn on Bluetooth and grant the relevant platform permission only when the selected branch requires it. Nearby Devices may appear as an Android permission name; it is not a separate V380 onboarding technology.

Do not infer V380 Pro Bluetooth behavior from this V380 documentation.

LAN Search and Device ID

Keep first-time WiFi provisioning separate from adding a camera that is already connected.

A. First-Time WiFi Provisioning

QR, AP, or supported Bluetooth branches can provide network information to a camera when the official instructions specify that method.

Entering a Device ID alone does not provision a new camera onto WiFi.

B. Adding an Already-Connected Camera

When the camera is already reachable on the same local network, the official V380 guidance describes LAN search or manual Device ID addition.

The app may:

  • discover the camera on the LAN; or
  • allow its Device ID to be entered or scanned.

V380 documentation describes the Device ID as the camera’s unique identifier. Some model-specific materials may call a similar identifier a UID, but Device ID is the primary term used here.

It is not the WiFi password or app-account password. Use the identifier assigned to that camera and keep it private.

Manual addition can also be relevant when the camera has completed a documented network connection but has not appeared automatically in the app. The official completion guidance describes adding that already-connected device rather than repeating WiFi provisioning.

Some V380 hardware supports Ethernet, but that remains a model-qualified connection option. PoE, NVR, 4G, and solar-camera configuration are outside this guide.

Account Behavior and Operating-System Permissions

V380 Account or Local Use

The official V380 account guidance documents both Try without account and account login.

In that documented V380 workflow, local use supports basic device functions, while account login supports features such as device-list synchronization, sharing, and cloud-connected services.

Do not generalize this behavior to V380 Pro or every V380-compatible camera. Use the account options currently presented for the exact app and documented camera workflow.

Account recovery, ownership transfer, cloud-storage purchases, and subscription management are outside this onboarding guide.

Method-Specific Permissions

Grant permissions according to the selected branch:

  • Camera: may be required when the phone scans a device QR code.
  • Local Network: may be required on iPhone or iPad when an app communicates with local devices. Apple explains this behavior in its Local Network privacy guidance.
  • Bluetooth or Nearby Devices: may be required for a documented Bluetooth branch, depending on Android and app versions.
  • Location: may appear in some Android WiFi-discovery flows, especially on older versions or for APIs that still require it.

Android’s permission model varies by OS and target version. Google documents NEARBY_WIFI_DEVICES for relevant Android 13-or-later WiFi operations and location permission for some older or specific APIs in its nearby WiFi permission guidance.

Do not present microphone, notification, photo, or storage access as universal requirements for initial onboarding.

Confirm That the Camera Was Added

Depending on the documented V380 branch, supported confirmation may include:

  • an app status such as Completed;
  • a status such as Added successfully;
  • the camera appearing in the app’s device list;
  • a documented camera prompt indicating that the network connection completed.

Live view does not have to be the only evidence that the addition stage completed. The V380 guidance documents situations in which the camera reports a completed connection before the app displays its final state; the appropriate next step may be LAN discovery or manual Device ID addition rather than repeating provisioning.

V380-Specific States That Need Special Handling

Verify the Device ID Before Manual Addition

When adding a camera manually, use the Device ID assigned to that camera.

Do not substitute:

  • the WiFi password;
  • the app-account password;
  • a sharing code;
  • an identifier from another camera.

The Device ID is private device information and should not be publicly exposed.

Binding Failed

The official V380 FAQ recognizes a Binding failed condition and directs the user toward support. The reviewed documentation does not provide a self-service ownership bypass.

Do not use modified apps, unofficial unbinding tools, or procedures intended to defeat an existing device association.

Use official V380 support. A seller should be involved only when it is the documented warranty or support channel for the exact product.

When the Selected Branch Does Not Match the Camera

Treat this as a decision rule, not an official named error state.

If the selected QR, AP, Bluetooth, or Device ID path does not match the documented camera prompt or setup method, return to the branch specified for that camera.

Do not cycle randomly through every available method. If the correct branch is confirmed but setup still fails, move to the relevant troubleshooting guide.

If Setup Still Fails

Use the guide matching the unresolved problem:

A previously working camera that later becomes offline requires a different recovery workflow outside the scope of this first-time setup guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are V380 and V380 Pro the same app?

No. They have different Android package names and Apple App Store IDs. They share a publisher, but that does not establish device or setup compatibility.

Which V380 app should I install?

Install the exact app identified by the camera’s manufacturer documentation, manual, packaging, or verified current support information. Do not select V380 Pro simply because its name sounds newer.

Does every V380 camera use QR setup?

No. The reviewed V380 documentation includes QR, AP hotspot, Bluetooth, LAN discovery, and Device ID workflows. Use only the branch documented for the exact camera.

Does every V380 camera require 2.4GHz WiFi?

The reviewed V380 network guidance specifies 2.4GHz for the wireless cameras covered by that documentation. It does not prove the same requirement for every V380 Pro or future V380-family product.

What is the V380 Device ID?

It is the camera identifier used in supported V380 addition and discovery workflows. It is not a WiFi or account password and should not be publicly exposed.
